WITHOUT FURTHER ADO…
…we finally have the results of our Green Halloween Costume Contest! Before we go ahead and announce them, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to craft and submit a homemade, one-of-a-kind costume. We were so impressed with the caliber of work, so choosing a winner was not easy. Luckily, we had our readers to make the final decision and they have spoken! We know the suspense is killing you so without further ado, here are the winners!
GRAND PRIZE GOES TO…IT’S A TIE!
Because of a kink in our voting system, we had two fantastic costumes that had such a close number of votes that we had no choice but to declare them both grand prize winners. So congratulations to both Cheshire Cat AND Optimus Prime!!!

GRAND PRIZE GOES TO: CHESHIRE CAT
Talk about master crafting skills! This exquisite Cheshire Cat costume transported us to Wonderland with its bewitching trompe l’oeil styling. So clever!

GRAND PRIZE GOES TO: OPTIMUS PRIME
Take that Decepticons! Optimus Prime’s sick costume made of cardboard boxes actually transforms!
Both of our Grand Prize winners will receive a $100 Gift Certificate to the Inhabitatshop and a solar-powered flashlight from Bogolight who donates a flashlight to someone in a developing country for each one purchased in the U.S.

2ND PLACE GOES TO: WALL-E
The creator of this incredible Wall-E costume chose his subject well – a waste-cleaning robot couldn’t be more perfect for Inhabitat! But it wasn’t just his choice of costume that impressed people. He really brought this beloved movie character to life with his attention to detail. And apparently, our readers agreed because 122 of you voted for him!
EDITOR’S CHOICE AWARDS

HEADLESS MARIE ANTOINETTE
We’ve seen a lot of cool and creepy costumes in our day, but this Marie Antoinette really takes the “cake.” The haunting expression on Marie’s face and the technical skill required to pull the “headless” look off definitely deserve some kudos.
In terms of expert crafting skills, this exquisite costume made of hundreds of corks really awed us. The reuse of the corks, the design and the squirrel placement (LOL) really knocked our socks off.

BEAKER
Who could resist Beaker? As a bunch of 70s and 80s babies, we really couldn’t say no to the iconic simplicity of one of our favorite Muppets of all time.
All of our runners-up and editor’s picks will win their choice of an Inhabitat women’s or men’s T-shirt or bag!
Thank you to everyone who entered our Green Halloween Costume contest. We had a blast looking through all of these amazing entries and can’t wait to see even better ones next Halloween – so get cracking!
